The Recruitment Curry Club was born out of one simple frustration: traditional networking events had lost the plot. They’d become stale, salesy, and stuffed with surface level conversation. So we flipped the script.
We created a space where recruitment professionals, service providers to the recruitment industry, Employers, jobseekers or anyone interested in recruitment could unwind, open up, and chew the fat over a shared meal with zero pressure to pitch, posture, or pretend.
The format is simple…Find the nearest club to you. You pay a small ticket price (which 50% goes to our favourite charities), this secures your spot and we split the bill evenly between us (unless you’ve you drink the bar dry, that its all on you).

I am a solicitor to the recruitment industry and founding partner at recLAW LLP, lawyers to the recruitment industry.
With over 25 years in the recruitment sector, previously as recruiter/agency owner and now as solicitor, my personal specialism is avoiding or resolving litigation by education of opponents so that they pay or brokerage of deals to ensure the best outcome for our recruitment clients.
I’m Bobby, and I’m the one who had the crazy idea of starting the Recruitment Curry Club.
After getting through cancer, I knew I didn’t want to waste time on soulless networking events or awkward sales pitches. I wanted to bring people in recruitment together properly. No pressure, no peacocking, just community, connection and a decent curry.
What do I do? Well, I try and put myself out there as much as possible, from shaping and hosting event events to sparking conversations that actually matter – the idea being that this is all to have PROPER conversations – not just the usual “recruitment chat”. In the time since we set this up, we have been able to get the perspectives and opinions of so many people in our industry who might not have the chance to speak up regularly, and it’s an environment I’m proud that we have created.
That same mindset carries through into my day job:
